ECO TOTS

In Collaboration with Stephanie Schau and Hanna Henricksson Rebizant

This studio project was based on material exploration and toy design. Our group was assigned one sole material to make a toy out of: potatoes. After a series of test manipulations with potatoes, we found our concept. Potato bioplastic is made of entirely renewable materials and is biodegradable. Babies typically start teething around six months old, and grow out of this phase within about a year and a half; this toy can be disposed of after that time, and won’t harm the environment. To this day, the bioplastic toys remain in perfect condition, due to our secret ingredient: bamboo silica.
